1,000 Islands - Cocoa Beach, FL
This paddle is about 21 miles from my house. I usually launch from Ramp Road as they have parking, restrooms, covered picnic tables, a boardwalk, and two boat ramps - one for larger motorboats and a smaller launch perfect for kayaks, canoes, and paddleboards. This is flat water and perfect for beginners to see manatee, and dolphin. I have seen a few gators in my numerous trips but they are rarely seen here. I spend most of my time in the mangrove tunnels, out of the wind and sun. Also a perfect place to hide when the afternoon thunderstorms pop-up.
