Smokey & Bandit
July 2019
SnoBall, our beautiful part Siamese/Maine Coon died recently and Tiny, our other cat, took the loss hard. Mary Ann thought that another cat would ease the pain not only for Tiny, but us as well. Sno was a "talker" and the house was just too quiet without her comments and chirps so Mary Ann decided that we needed another part Siamese. So she started searching Petfinders and finally found a picture of a Siamese Lilac Point Snowshoe mix kitten (Smokey) being fostered by Nancy Mellor, President of Purrfect Friends Rescue in Melbourne. Mary Ann fell in love with the little guy sight unseen and dragged Rick with her to meet him.
When they came to meet Smokey, a little Russian Blue mix kitten from another litter Bandit sucked right up to Rick, who kept saying that they could NOT have three kitties! Bandit proved too irresistible and we decided to adopt him as well. Turns out that Smokey (rescued from a trailer park in Cocoa, FL) and Bandit (rescued from a kill shelter in Chipley, FL, a 6 hour drive from here) are best buddies and were meant to be "brothers". We adopted them both and now have Smokey and Bandit! They are little perpetual motion machines, never stopping and darting from toy to toy. They are always in motion and run on nuclear power, I wish we had that energy.
Now that they are in their forever home, Smokey has decided he is very talkative and when he doesn't know where Mary Ann is, he meows for her. Gotta love those happy - meant to be - stories!!!
